Overview

The impact of divorce can be devastating and long lasting on the couples involved in the divorce process, other family members, friends, work colleagues and above all, children. Divorcing couples are often making big decisions without any emotional support or guidance, and the emotional scars may remain unresolved.

Divorce mentoring and therapy is a new and exciting area and more importantly it is much needed. This course provides an overview of the divorce procedure, with a focus on the emotional and behavioural aspects of divorce. It will equip you with the skills required to support, guide and advise clients throughout the divorce process and beyond.

How the course works

This is a paper-based distance learning course. Upon enrolment you receive your first course lessons.

You can study in your own time, at your own pace and from the comfort of your own home. If you have any questions, or would like feedback or encouragement about your course or your studies, you can contact our friendly tutors by phone, email or post.

At the end of each lesson are a set of questions. Completing these can aid your learning and help you master each step before moving on to the next. Your next lesson will then arrive for you to continue when it suits you.

Having progressed through each lesson you can take your final examination at home, and at a date and time that suits you. Then, on successful completion you will be awarded your certificates. You have up to 2 years to complete the course.

Course Length

There are no set time limits or deadlines for this course, so you can study at your own pace. Your progress may therefore depend upon how much time you would like to commit to study.

Level and Certification

On successful completion, students will receive:

  • The CCPT Certificate of Completion in Divorce Therapy and Mentoring
  • Certificate of achievement from ABC Awards and Certa Awards

On successful completion of this course, you have received training designed as either a foundation qualification leading to further studies to attain a practitioner level, or professional development to gain additional skills and knowledge to expand the practice of the existing therapist.

You will receive your course units in paper format by post, your assignments can be completed and then submitted to us by post or email.
